DETROIT, Nov. 10, 2019 /PRNewswire/ — The Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute recognized its 2019 Heroes of Cancer at an evening reception held Nov. 6, at The Gem Theatre, in Detroit. The U CAN-CER VIVE Foundation, a philanthropic arm of LaFontaine Automotive, recently awarded two grants totaling more than $440,000 to Henry Ford Health System researchers and physicians to uncover more about how to treat and prevent pancreatic cancer, one of the deadliest types of cancer in the United States.
